Donald Lee Lauderback, 75, passed away quietly at his home in Powell, WY, on June 29, 2012.
Born July 31, 1936, in Dederick to Wilbur Lee Lauderback and Agnes Marie (Shumaker) Lauderback, he graduated in 1954 from El Dorado Springs High School. After graduation he worked on a survey crew in the Western United States and traveled extensively in the West.
In the fall of 1959 he joined the U.S. Army and served as a military policeman during his deployment to Korea. He married Janet Marie Elmore in 1960 and upon his return from the Army they moved to Vancouver, WA, where their three children were born. He worked for El-Paso Natural Gas which eventually led him and his family to Vernal, UT.
He retired from his position as District Superintendent of the Vernal District at Northwest Pipeline, The Williams Company, in May 1991. Post retirement he returned to The Williams Company as a consultant.
He married Nancy Ann Rumsey in 1986 and lived in Casper, WY, throughout the majority of his retired life until his recent move to Powell.
Known for his love of the outdoors, he spent his free time hunting and fishing in pursuit of the next big buck or largemouth bass.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of Powell, WY; his former wife Janet of Mooresville, NC; is three children – Donald Lee Lauderback Jr. (Tara) – Queens Creek, AZ, Darcy Dee Lauderback-Dober (Robert) – Sherrills Ford, NC and Tamara Jo Lauderback-Head (David) – Chugiak, AK; his brother, Larry Dean Lauderback – Dederick; and six Grandchildren – Tanner Lee Lauderback, Demi Lea Lauderback, Kaitlan Marie Head, Carson Elizabeth Head, Emma Marie Dober and Ashlyn Elisabeth Dober.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor to The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Laramie, WY.
